“I ended up really taking to jogging. I found that when I was out there by myself… it cleared my mind. And I felt this sense of relief when I finished. I could see how it made me feel better, and I wanted other people to have that same feeling.”
That’s Jessica Waytashek, a 2015 Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness Management graduate, in her new student video. Jessica says it was her passion for wellness that prompted her to seek out a new degree.
Living in rural Minnesota, she needed to attend college online, but most wellness degree programs were offered on campus only. The online University of Wisconsin Health and Wellness Management program was unique. Even with a full-time job, family life, a wellness blog to manage, and a side job as a personal trainer, Jessica was able to finish her degree.
Before she graduated, Jessica landed a job as a health and wellness coordinator, because even in her rural area, wellness is a huge priority for employers.
Since we featured Jessica on our blog in 2015, she has started a new position as a health coach. Jessica works for Omada Health, a digital therapeutics company that provides dedicated, full-time health coaches to corporate partners.
